Scholarship Guidelines Applications must be postmarked on or before March 1
Scholarship Amount Scholarships are $4,000 ($2,000 per semester toward tuition) and are renewable for a potential award of $16,000 ($4,000 per year x 4 years).
Scholarship Criteria Only students who are applying as incoming freshmen for the fall school year that meet the minimum scholarship criteria are eligible to apply. Applicants will be considered who may or may not have financial need. Minimum criteria for applicants include the following:

- U. S. Citizen
- Resident of Kentucky and enrolled in a Kentucky school.
- Plans to attend a college or university located in Kentucky.
- Is active in community service and/or school activities and/or employment.
- Will be a full-time college student (12+ credit hours)
- Has at least a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average and an ACT score of 25 or above.
- Must submit an essay (double spaced, maximum 500 words) about their professional plans after college.
- Must provide two (2) letters of recommendation with one being from a teacher and one from a professional outside of the school system.
NOTE: The Scholarship Committee has the discretion to waive the above criteria when making a scholarship selection. Due to limited funds and staffing, only scholarship winners are contacted.

Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities
Statement of Understanding Regarding Scholarship Tuition: The scholarship is $2,000 per semester for up to 8 semesters. It is to be utilized toward tuition only and will be paid directly to the Kentucky College or University. Academic Standing: Good standing must be maintained with the college or university in order for scholarship to continue. Communication: A copy of grades, listing of courses registered for the next semester, and a brief statement of update (how the scholarship is helping, activities, etc.) is required each semester and must be received in order for tuition payment to be made. A graduation photo, final grades, and statement regarding future plans is to be sent within one month of graduation.
Periodic communication after graduation (approximately once per year) regarding career, achievements, etc. Gala: Recognition is given to each scholar at the Awards of Excellence Gala. The scholar recipient is to attend and give a brief (approximately 2 minutes) acceptance. The scholar’s parent(s) may also attend. If the scholar desires additional attendees on his/her behalf, the attendees may purchase tickets.
PR/Marketing: Aid in PR/Marketing activities such as providing local media contact information to announce the scholarship, provide quotes for marketing materials. Fund Development: Scholarships are only possible because of donations, therefore scholars and their families are requested to aid in fund development as they can such as introductions to potential donors, providing names of individuals and businesses to invite to the Gala, and "giving back" as appropriate as careers become established, etc.
